TheVictor Janusz Duo, Trio and Band
Arwen Dewey, Victor Janusz and friends have been thrilling Seattle audiences together since 2013 with vintage tunes from an eclectic mix of favorites (Cole Porter, Edith Piaf, Charles Trenet...) as well as more recent hits by REM, Elvis Costello and more. We've been featured at Washington Athletic Club, Egan's Ballard Jam House, The Royal Room, Salty's on Alki, The Swedish Club, The Knife Room, Dorothy's Cabaret, North City Bistro and other venues around Seattle.

Victor JanuszVictor Janusz is one of the Northwest's most popular and in-demand singer/ pianists, and has enjoyed a full-time solo career since 1999. His one-man show about a "life at the keys," called Hands Solo: Pianoman (directed by Lori Larsen) sold out its two-week run as part of ACT Theatre's 2014 season, following a world premiere at The Duplex in NYC. His many cabaret hits include the popular Phoenicia & Vic shows with Wade Madsen and Pinkaboo! which enjoyed a month-long run at Seattle's ACT Theatre in 2008. His VJ Combo has booked venues from the historic Showbox Theatre to The Paramount's Lobby Lounge. He has accompanied and sung alongside singers as diverse as blues great Duffy Bishop, Greta Matassa, Sarah Rudinoff, "El Vez" and Billy Joe Huels. He has headlined (with the VJ Combo) at CANLIS for six New Years Eve Galas, dazzled at the Fairmont Hotel, and has kept brunch-goers happy for nearly twelve years at Saltys On Alki. A graduate of the Cabaret Conference at Yale University, Victor has studied and performed with masters of the art form, including Julie Wilson, Jason Graae, and Laurel Masse of The Manhattan Transfer. His recordings include Hands Solo (2002), Cosmo Street (2005), Living in a Blue State (2015), and Café Pluvieux (2018).

Arwen DeweyArwen was raised on a rich mix of 1920s-40s jazz and 1960s folk-pop. She studied music & literature at Antioch College in Ohio, then ran away to France where she spent seven years training as an operatic coloratura soprano and absorbing a whole new culture and its music and language. Add to that her subsequent adoption-through-marriage by a South American family, and you'll understand the diverse blend of music that Arwen loves and draws from in her cabaret-style performances. Also a lyricist and professional translator, Arwen frequently seeks out vintage French songs and performs them both in the original language and in English translation. She has written and performed several one-woman shows (with occasional strokes of brilliance contributed by Music Director Victor Janusz), including A Little Bird Told Me, Songs of the City,Winning Him Back, Date With the Moon: the Music of Charles Trenet, Musique du Film, and ¡Romance Romance Romance! Her performances feature true stories of international romance, trilby hats, and the futility and joys of love, and can frequently be seen in Seattle's March is Cabaret Month Festival and venues around the Puget Sound.
